HER STORY











Rev. Hobbs has ministered in revivals and conducted workshops in Texas, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Haiti, South Korea, and Ghana, West Africa.

Rev. Hobbs was born in Fort Worth, Texas and received her early education in Texas. She retired from the U.S. Army as a MAJOR after 25 years of service. She has earned a B.S. in Clinical Psychology from Park College, Missouri, an M.S. in Education from the University of Kentucky, an M.A. in Religious Studies at Florida International University and a Master of Divinity degree at Asbury Seminary. She has completed doctoral work in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy at Nova Southeastern University.

Rev. Hobbs served as an associate Minister for four years at the Holy Light C.O.G.I.C. while stationed in El Paso, Texas. She also has pastored while in Sierra Vista, Arizona and served as senior assistant to the Chaplain in Seoul, Korea. As God has directed and made opportunity, she has served faithfully in many churches and in many different capacities. She was ordained an Elder in the South Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church; served in the Florida Conference as Pastor of Saint Peter A.M.E. Church- Midway, Florida; and is now serving as Pastor of Bethel A.M.E., Punta Gorda, Florida. Her Presiding Elder is Rev. John L. Bodison of the Central District. 

She has written plays, authored and published books of poetry and religious subjects. The list includes: Wildflower; As A Man Thinketh (Study Guide); From the Heart and Perfection. 

Rev. Hobbs is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She has one daughter who is a US Army Officer and son-in-law who reside West Virginia and a granddaughter starting on her second year at North Texas State.
